Feast Day of Saints Nereus and Achilleus

With a 2000 year history it would be a daunting task to write about the Saints of the Roman Catholic church.

I will start off with today's Feast Day of Saints' Nereus and Achilleus. According to my Weekday Missal they were two Roman soldiers from the time of Diocletian, who were put to death probably in the year 304, for refusing to serve in the army after their conversion to Christianity.
